I. Questionnaire Survey on the Revision of ANMC21-WPS

To enhance cooperation among member cities of ANMC21 Participation of Women in Society and to expand the scope of the network’s joint activities, Seoul Metropolitan government designated Seoul Foundation of Women and Family as the head office of ANMC21 Participation of Women in Society which has been acting as an executive organ of Seoul Metropolitan Government’s women policies and research projects.

As the first step for the enhancement of the network activities, Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Women’s Foundation jointly prepared the Questionnaire to Member Cities on the Revision of ANMC21 Participation of Women in Society. The questionnaire will be the foundation of 2007 ANMC21-Participation of Women in Society joint project.

The questionnaire has been designed to obtain information from member cities of Asian Network of Major Cities 21 Participation of Women in Society (ANMC21-PWS) and to facilitate network activities on women’s policy development. The information provided will be analyzed and compiled for the revision of ANMC21-PWS network activities, and the outcomes will be presented on and distributed through the newly developed website of ANMC21-PWS.

The questionnaire consists of three parts:

l Part One: Official contact information for the ANMC21-PWS network activities

l Part Two: Overall revision of the ANMC21-PWS’s goal, vision and activity profile

l Part Three: 2007 Workshop on Participation of Women in Society - Taipei

II. Questionnaire Survey on City Policies and NGO Activities of ANMC21-WPS

The questionnaire has been designed to prepare the common ground to enhance

cooperation among member cities of ANMC21-WPS and to contribute in facilitating women’s participation in society in ANMC21-WPS member cities.

The information provided will be analyzed and published as a collection of city monitoring reports and the outcomes will be presented at the 2007 ANMC21-WPS Taipei Workshop to facilitate discussions on the mid-and-long-term plan of the network activities. The report on the outcomes of the ANMC21-WPS 2007 Joint Project will be published in October 2007 and distributed among member cities at the 2007 ANMC21-WPS Taipei Workshop.

The 2nd questionnaire consists of four parts:

I Part I: Women’s Participation in Socio-Economic Activities

Respondents are invited to provide official statistical data and resources regarding

women’s participation in socio-economic activities and women- specific welfare benefits.

I Part II: City Government’s Women’s Policy

Part Two focuses on city government’s women’s policies, including responsible division

and human resources, relevant projects, yearly budget, and the City-level mid-and-long-

term plan/ordinance/act.

I Part III: Women’s NGOs, NPOs and Government Supports

In Part Three, we aim to collect a complete list of Women’s NGOs and NPOs in each

member city and the level of city and central government’s supports for them.

I Part IV: Recommendations and Suggestions for ANMC21-WPS

Responding cities are asked to recommend and suggest ideas/opinions for the

revitalization of ANMC21-WPS network activities, with the vision to settle the network’s 5-

year activity plan.

Each Questionnaire result will be used as part of a member city monitoring report on women’s participation in society. Following is the contents of the full report to be published in October 2007.
